NBA roundup: Cleveland Cavaliers end losing streak against Orlando Magic

Sports Mole rounds up Monday night's NBA action, where there were big wins for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers.

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers put an end to their four-game losing streak with a convincing 106-74 win at home over the Orlando Magic.

The Cavs are now 6-7 for the season after James scored 29 points, 16 of which came in the first quarter, and contributed 11 assists.

The Los Angeles Clippers also got back to winning ways with a 113-92 victory over the Charlotte Hornets, who have now lost six straight games.

The Clippers' two stars shone at Time Warner Cable Arena, with Blake Griffin one assist away from a triple-double with 22 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists. Chris Paul finished also with 22 points and provided 15 assists.

Derrick Rose made his return from a hamstring strain after four games out and helped the Chicago Bulls to a 97-95 win over the Utah Jazz.

Rose scored 18 points on his return while Pau Gasol was also back for the Bulls and contributed 23 points and nine rebounds at EnergySolutions Arena.

At Wells Fargo Center, the longest winning streak came up against the biggest losing streak as the winless Philadelphia 76ers welcomed the Portland Trail Blazers.

Despite leading at half time, Philly lost out in the end to make it 14 games without a win. Portland, behind LaMarcus Aldridge's 33 points and 11 rebounds, have now won eight in a row.

Two teams with four-game winning streaks went head-to-head at Air Canada Centre and it was the Eastern Conference-leading Toronto Raptors that edged it 104-100 against the Phoenix Suns.

Jonas Valanciunas had a career-high 27 points and also brought down 11 rebounds in the victory that saw Toronto improve to 12-2.

James Harden boasted the highest score of any player on Monday night with 36 in the Houston Rockets' win over the New York Knicks.

Twelve of those points came in the final five minutes as the Rockets fought back late on to win 91-86 at Toyota Center. Carmelo Anthony was the Knicks' top scorer with 14, but they all came in the first half as he left the game with back spasms just before the interval.

The Indiana Pacers pulled off a surprise win with a 111-100 win at American Airlines Center against the Dallas Mavericks.

Donald Sloan led all scorers with 29 points as the Pacers scored their biggest total of the season and the first time they've posted three figures since their opening game of the season.
