Blake Griffin: 'Referees allowed cowardly play'

Los Angeles Clippers point guard Blake Griffin says that it was cowardly for referees to eject him from the team's game against the Golden State Warriors.

Blake Griffin has branded the referees that officiated the Los Angeles Clippers' Christmas Day fixture as "cowardly".

The point guard was ejected following a scuffle with the Golden State Warriors' Andrew Bogut in the fourth quarter of the 105-103 defeat.

The 24-year-old told reporters: "If you look at it, I didn't do anything and I got thrown out of the game.

"It all boils down to [the referees] fell for it. To me, it's cowardly basketball. I don't know their intentions, but it worked.

"If I knew the answer I'd probably be in a different position. Tonight I got two technicals for nothing."

Griffin scored 20 points before his ejection yesterday evening.
