Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers has insisted that he is focused on winning a title, not leading his side to become the top franchise in the city.
Having arrived from Boston this summer, he admits that it will always be Lakers town, but that the Clippers want to make their own history.
"We're just going to fight for our fans. We don't want to take away the Lakers' fans. They're great," he said, according to ESPN Los Angeles.
"They have forged their own history. We're going to forge our own history. The city is big enough to have two teams."
The Clippers completed their first four-game sweep of the Lakers last season, but will be looking to improve in the playoffs.
