Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers has confirmed that he did meet with Lamar Odom on Friday.
Recent reports have linked both the Clippers and the Los Angeles Lakers with a move for Odom, who has been a free agent since his one-season spell with the former finished at the end of last campaign.
Rivers revealed that he did talk with the 34-year-old but said that any deal is far from completion.
"I've always had interest in him. I've always liked him," the Clippers coach told reporters.
"The teams he's played on and the coaches who have coached him have always liked him, but honestly it really didn't go much further than that."
Odom is alleged to have been battling a drug addiction recently and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in August.
