Los Angeles Clippers edge past Golden State Warriors

The Los Angeles Clippers seal a narrow 98-96 win over the Golden State Warriors to take the lead in their playoff series.

The Los Angeles Clippers have secured a narrow 98-96 win over the Golden State Warriors to take a 2-1 lead in their playoff series.

Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan led the visitors to an 18-point lead during the third quarter as they looked for back-to-back wins over their California rivals.

However, Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry led a Warriors comeback to leave them just one point down heading into the final 10 seconds.

The visitors were able to seal the win when Curry fouled Chris Paul while he was looking for a three-pointer, allowing him to add a free throw and run the clock down.

The two sides play the fourth game of their first-round series on Sunday.
