Xavier Henry has returned to practice for the Los Angeles Lakers as he steps up his recovery from a knee injury.
The 22-year-old suffered severe bruising to his right knee in the loss to the Philadelphia 76ers a fortnight ago, but reports have suggested that he could be available for Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
"I'd be lying if I said I'm 100%, but I'm working at it and that's all I'm trying to do -- get back as fast as possible," Henry told reporters after beginning training again on the weekend.
Due to an ongoing injury crisis at point guard, a position where Henry has been used this season, Mike D'Antoni could be forced to recall the former Kansas Jayhawks guard earlier than expected.
"I'm optimistic," D'Antoni admitted. "I hope [he returns] pretty soon. I hope so."
The Lakers have lost 10 of their previous 11 matches.
