Carmelo Anthony: "I made history"

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony says that he made history by scoring 62 points in the team's win over the Charlotte Bobcats.

Carmelo Anthony has said that he "made history" during the team's 125-96 win over the Charlotte Bobcats last night.

The All-Star forward scored a career-high 62 points in the game, setting a new highest score in the league this season, as well as breaking Bernard King's franchise record and bettering Kobe Bryant's previous mark for the highest score at Madison Square Garden.

The 29-year-old told reporters: "I made history tonight, with the performance, but just to be a part of that group of people, like I said, there's only a small group of people that knows what that zone feels like and tonight I was one of them.

"Just to see everybody smiling once again, that's what I was more excited to see. Guys on the bench smiling, high-fiving, having fun once again, that's the only thing I care about."

The result ended a five-game losing streak for the Knicks.
