Randy Wittman: 'Washington Wizards shot selection was terrible'

Washington Wizards head coach Randy Wittman says that his team did not make the right shot selections during their opening game of the NBA season.

Randy Wittman has described the Washington Wizards' shot selection during their opening game of the NBA season as "terrible".

The Wizards were beaten 113-102 by the Detroit Pistons last night, converting less than half of their attempts at the hoop.

The head coach told reporters: "Offensively I thought we were really bad in the first half. The shot selection was terrible which led to easy breakouts and open transition. We got beat in every category.

"We continued to battle and kept fighting to stay in it. I like that but again you have to go out with a purpose. That is the main thing.

"You do not go out and play this game and hope to win. To win games in this league you have to go out with a purpose."

The Wizards play the Philadelphia 76ers tomorrow.
