Carl Froch is eager for a rematch against Mikkel Kessler in Nottingham following his defeat to the Dane.
The two clashed back in April 2010, when the former super-middleweight king Kessler beat Froch in 12 rounds.
Froch told Sky Sports News that he would love Kessler to come to Nottingham for a rematch.
"I was not at my best for that fight, and I know why I lost. I'm not making excuses, but I have my reasons for not be completely prepared," he said.
These comments come as a response to Kessler, who last month said that he would be happy to come to Nottingham for a return bout.
"I am sure he thinks he will beat me next time. I hope there is a next time as I will show him again that I am the better fighter," he added.
"I was out of the sport for a while through injury and I think the rest has done me the world of good."
The Cobra is in confidant form following his comprehensive fifth-round victory last month over Lucain Bute in his hometown.
