Golden Boy Promotions has announced that WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto will face Saul Alvarez in Las Vegas on November 21.
A bout between two of the sport's biggest names had been rumoured for some time, but on Thursday, it was revealed that a deal had been agreed for a showdown to take place at the Mandalay Bay Hotel.
Puerto Rican fighter Cotto claimed the WBC belt from Sergio Martinez in June 2014 before he successfully defended the strap against Daniel Geale earlier this year.
Alvarez, a former world champion at light-middleweight, has only suffered one defeat in 47 outings, which came against Floyd Mayweather Jr in 2013.
