British middleweight Chris Eubank Jr has insisted that he won't be rushed into signing a contract to fight European champion Billy Joe Saunders.
Saunders and promoter Frank Warren had earlier stated that Eubank must pen a deal to face the former Olympian at London's ExCel Arena on November 29 by 5pm on Thursday evening.
However, after the deadline passed, Eubank, who like Saunders is undefeated, took to Twitter to give his version of events as a bout between the two fighters remained in doubt.
The 25-year-old tweeted: "Frank Warren has tried to force me into signing a contract without my lawyers being able to look at it entirely & agree on it.
"He scheduled a press conference before the contract was even looked at properly to try to rush us into signing and agreeing on terms that we don't want.
"There's no deadline or rushing when it comes to my career. I'll sign once my management team has gone through and okayed the contract completely."
If a deal can eventually be agreed, the contest will act as chief support to the world heavyweight title eliminator between Dereck Chisora and Tyson Fury.
