Carl Froch has insisted that only Lennox Lewis can rival him as the best British boxer in recent years.
The 35-year-old, who kept his World IBF super-middleweight title with victory over Mikkel Kessler on Saturday, also believes that he is only now receiving "recognition" for his talents.
"The recognition has been a long time coming, but I'm getting the recognition I deserve now," Froch told BBC Sport.
"In Great Britain I'm number one. It's between me and Lennox Lewis, depending on how far you are going back."
Froch is widely expected to face Andre Ward, who beat him on points in December 2011, in his next fight.
