Brooklyn welterweight Paulie Malignaggi has insisted that he will claim what is 'rightfully' his when he takes on IBF champion Shawn Porter this weekend.
The former light-welterweight champion controversially lost to Adrien Broner last summer before restoring his name with victory over Zab Judah.
Now that he is back in the world title mix, he is determined to win the IBF belt to redeem himself.
"I think, as far as I'm concerned, I haven't lost at all in the last three years," Malignaggi told BoxNation.
"Adrien Broner was given my world title, so I feel like I need to win another world title to kind of rightfully get what's mine. My name just became a filler on [Broner's] resume and I feel like for that reason I need to get a world title to kind of redeem myself.
"I mean Shawn worked hard for this, but it's a world championship that I want and now I got the chance to do it."
Malignaggi faces Porter on Saturday night, with the winner likely to fight British star Kell Brook.
