David Price: 'Tyson Fury is an idiot'

David Price says that Tyson Fury is giving boxing a "bad name" with his rants on Twitter.

British heavyweight champion David Price has branded Tyson Fury an "idiot" whose antics on Twitter are tarnishing the sport.

Fury spoke on Channel 5 during James DeGale's European title defence to call Price out, stating that the feud between them is "personal".

He then took to Twitter to carry on his verbal assault against him, his promoter Frank Maloney and fellow Liverpool boxer Tony Bellew.

The British Boxing Board of Control have said that Fury may face action for his foul-mouthed rant.

Acording to Price, a fight between him and Fury is gathering pace and could be announced for next summer.

"He's idiotic and giving the sport a bad name the way he's running round like a playground bully," said the 2008 Olympic bronze medallist. "We are grown men and no-one bullies anyone as far as I'm concerned, and especially not him.

"There is a genuine dislike for each other and that is going to make for a great fight. A massive fight. He's getting angry, and I say keep talking, because he's building the fight. The things he's saying aren't bothering me in the slightest. It's like dealing with a kid at school talking absolute nonsense.

"I'd take the fight this week but the reality is it's more likely to happen next summer some time. Keep building it along nicely. Let Tyson do his promotional work on Twitter or whatever else and I'll let my fists do the talking as usual."

Both men boast unbeaten professional records.
