WBA super-bantamweight champion Scott Quigg has insisted that his bout with Argentine Diego Silva is a "very important" fight in his career.
Quigg has frequently been linked with a highly anticipated British showdown with rival Carl Frampton, but the Englishman has revealed that he isn't underestimating the significance of his world title encounter with Silva at Manchester's Phones4U on Saturday evening.
The 25-year-old told reporters: "It's a very important fight for me, and it's also great to be on this sort of bill.
I couldn't have asked for a better platform to go out there to prove that I deserve to be world champion, and I've got a tough opponent in front of me to go out to do that."
Quigg is undefeated in a 28-fight professional career.
