Lee Selby: 'I want to make impact in America'

Welsh featherweight Lee Selby reveals that he is keen to compete in the United States at some point in his career.

Welsh featherweight Lee Selby has admitted that he is keen to make an impact in front of American boxing fans when he faces Romulo Koasicha in Cardiff on Saturday evening.

The world title eliminator will be broadcast in the United States, and with a win moving him closer to a shot at the WBC title, Selby wants to prove his talent to a worldwide audience.

The 27-year-old is quoted by World Boxing News as saying: "It is great to be seen in America. That is where the big fights are and it is great to be able to show my talent.

"Hopefully I can challenge for one of the titles. I just want everyone to follow my career. Hopefully I can fight in America and bring a title back to Wales."

Sports Mole will provide live text commentary of Selby's encounter with Koasicha this evening, along with Nathan Cleverly's cruiserweight debut against Sean Corbin and Gavin Rees's highly-anticipated rematch with Gary Buckland.
