Bantamweight world title challenger Martin Ward has revealed that he wants to win the world title for his trainer Neil Fannan.
Ward takes on fellow North-East boxer Stuart Hall for the IBF title this evening and is hoping to defy the odds.
He has also joked that his trainer may quit if he was able to bring home a world title.
"I want to win it for me and my family," Ward told the Hartlepool Mail. "But I also want to do it for Neil Fannan.
"It will complete his collection, Northern Area, English, British, Commonwealth and World. Mind you, if he wins the world title, he might pack it in.
"But seriously, it will be great for the old fella to get get the recognition he deserves."
Ward takes on Hall in Newcastle tonight.
