Northern Ireland boxer Michael Conlan has insisted that his eyes are fully focused on a gold medal at this summer's Commonwealth Games.
Conlan is now guaranteed at least a bronze at the Games after advancing into the semi-finals of the bantamweight division with victory over Bashir Nasir.
However, Conlan, who won bronze at the Olympics, is not interested in anything over than first place.
"I am not thinking about the [bronze] medal at all. Gold is the only one I want. Another bronze medal? Bronze medals don't mean anything. I have a bronze medal from the Olympics, I don't want another one. I don't want silver either, just gold," he told Sports Mole immediately after his bout.
"I am happy enough with my performance out there. I can perform 10 times better than that. It was a bit boring because it was an awkward opponent and I had to be careful with his head. The better opponent I face, the better I will fight."
Conlan's semi-final opponent is defending champion Sean McGoldrick.
