Ukraine's Taras Shelestyuk has beaten France's Alexis Vastine to seal a spot on the Olympic podium.
Shelestyuk marched forward menacingly from the fist bell, but Vastine was alert and on his toes.
The Frenchman did well to stick to his gameplan and stayed level at 5-5 after the first.
The Ukrainian was finding himself increasingly frustrated by Vastine, whose fitness was shining through as he constantly moved out of Shelestyuk's reach.
The scores were still level as they entered a tense final three minutes. Vastine continued to move and was countering nicely, as he had done throughout the contest.
Vastine boxed well from start to finish, but it was Shelestyuk who prevailed on countback after the judges scored the bout level at 18-18.
