Ed McKeever: 'I've kind of been the one to beat since London 2012'

Great Britain canoeist Ed McKeever suggests that he may be the person to beat during the European Games in Baku as he prepares to renew his rivalry with Saul Craviotto.

Great Britain canoeist Ed McKeever has suggested that he could be the man to beat in the men's kayak singles at the European Games.

McKeever won gold during London 2012 and may possibly renew his rivalry with Spaniard Saul Craviotto as early as the 200m heats in Baku.

"It is always very close. That is the thing with 200-metre racing - the margins are so very small. One mistake and the race can go either way," said McKeever, according to the official Baku 2015 website.

"Obviously there are also other opponents, but of course after the last Olympics I have been kind of the person to beat."

McKeever will begin his pursuit of a medal on Monday when he competes in heat one of the K1.
