Mitchell Johnson happy with Australia's performance

Mitchell Johnson says that Australia are looking at "a nice picture" as they lead England by 481 runs at the end of day two at Lord's.

Australia's Mitchell Johnson has said that he believes his side have every reason to be happy with the state of play at the close of day two of the second Test at Lord's.

England ended the day 84-4 after the tourists declared at 566-8 to lead by 481 runs overnight.

"It's a nice picture to have on day two. The batters set us up and the bowlers have given it our all this afternoon. We had a few overs at the English and the guys stuck really well to the plans," Johnson told Sky Sports News.

"The boys have done really well. We've started this Test really well after the disappointment in Cardiff but we knew when we got here we would have more of a chance with a wicket that would probably have more bounce. It's marginal but it still feels a bit nicer and that slope has come into play for sure.

"It gives me something else if the ball's not swinging. It didn't swing towards the end of the day so you've got to use those conditions out there."

Johnson took the wickets of Gary Ballance and Joe Root to finish the day with figures of 2-16.
