Australia beat Sri Lanka by 32 runs in the fifth one-day international to draw the series in Hobart.

Australia have drawn the one-day international series against Sri Lanka following a strong innings in Hobart today.

The hosts set a total of 248 to chase courtesy of a mammoth innings from Phillip Hughes, who remained unbeaten after the 50 overs on 138 from 154 balls.

Sri Lanka took to the crease with opening batsmen Mahela Jayawardene and Tillakaratne Dilshan, who managed to rack up 38 and 19 runs respectively.

The visitors looked steady in the first few overs but wickets began to tumble as Lahiru Thirimanne was dismissed for one by Xavier Doherty, who also bowled out Dinesh Chandimal for six.

Angelo Matthews got Sri Lanka back on track by surpassing a half century to reach 67, while Kushal Perera (14) and Jeevan Mendis (26) contributed to Sri Lanka's run-rate.

Despite their attempts, Doherty and Moises Henriques were on form for Australia by taking three wickets apiece and helped the hosts secure the draw by 32 runs.
