The tourists made 362-3 from their 50 overs before the hosts were bowled out for 162 runs with six overs remaining.

Shaun Marsh topscored for the Aussies with a mammoth knock of 151, while Aaron Finch also chipped in with 148.

Elsewhere, Shane Watson made 37 before he was dismissed by Iain Wardlaw.

Only a handful of players made it to double figures when the Scots stepped up to the crease, with Matt Machan (39), Majid Haq (25) and Calum MacLeod (24) doing most of the damage before the final wicket fell.

Mitchell Johnson proved to be the most lethal bowler for Australia, taking a total of four wickets.
