Geoffrey Boycott calls on Alastair Cook to give up England ODI captaincy

Geoffrey Boycott calls on Alastair Cook to give up his captaincy with the one-day England squad.

Geoffrey Boycott believes that England Test skipper Alastair Cook should give up his captaincy of the one-day squad.

The former England opener believes that the Essex batsman needs to put all his concentration into his Test commitments after the Three Lions lost their grip on the Ashes to Australia Down Under.

"I don't think he should be one day captain," Boycott told the TMS podcast. "I don't think he should play. The modern day captain has so much to do outside his batting and on field captaincy."

England are currently 3-0 down in the series ahead of the fourth Test in Melbourne.
