Match referee David Boon rates Trent Bridge pitch as "poor"

Trent Bridge pitch is rated as "poor" by match referee David Boon following first Investec Test between England and India which ended in a draw.

The much-criticised Trent Bridge pitch for the drawn first Investec Test between England and India has been rated as "poor" by match referee David Boon.

Boon's report, which has been submitted to the International Cricket Council, raised concerns over the quality of the pitch, rating it as "poor".

Twenty-nine wickets fell over five days' play in Nottingham, but the pitch was subject to widespread criticism, including from former England captain Nasser Hussain.

The England and Wales Cricket Board now has 14 days to respond to Boon's judgement.
