Ravi Bopara urges his England teammates to not concentrate on all types of bowling and not just the prospect of facing spin.

England batsman Ravi Bopara has warned his teammates not to focus solely on Sri Lanka's spinners during the upcoming Test series between the two nations.

A number of England's batsmen came in for criticism for the way they dealt with spin during their whitewash Test series loss to Pakistan last month.

Despite acknowledging that spin will play a part in the coming weeks, Bopara has urged the England squad to concentrate on all types of bowling.

"I think we were caught a little bit cold at the beginning of the UAE tour," he told Sky Sports News. "As the tour went on everybody got better at playing spin, but it's not all about spin.

"In these conditions, with this humidity, the ball will swing around, especially early doors.

"We've seen in the past Chaminda Vaas has been very successful out here and he is a swing bowler. We have to cope with that as well, it's not just about spin."

Bopara is expected to replace Eoin Morgan in the team.
