England assistant coach Paul Farbrace has urged the players included in the one-day international squad to stick to their natural game ahead of the series with New Zealand.
Several young players have been given a chance in the squad, with the likes of James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Ian Bell all missing out as incoming head coach Trevor Bayliss looks for promising signs in the hope of changing their limited-overs fortunes.
"The message will be, you've been selected because of the way that you play and you've got to go and do exactly the same at international level," Bayliss told reporters.
"The players who have the guts to do that and let themselves go are the people that make a success of it.
"I have had a few good chats with Trevor. We've chatted a lot and he's had an influence in this one-day side. We've chatted prior to the selection of the one-day squad and since it was made and he's had quite an input."
The series gets underway at Edgbaston on Tuesday.
