Graeme Swann will captain England's Twenty20 team against the West Indies.

Graeme Swann has been given the England captaincy for the Twenty20 side’s internationals against the West Indies at The Oval.

The 32-year-old will lead out a youthful team with possible debutants Jonathan Bairstow and Danny Briggs making an appearance.

"We have once again selected a blend of experienced international performers, along with exciting young players with a great deal of talent,” The Guardian quotes National Selector Geoff Miller as saying.

"Graeme Swann is a highly-respected member of the England side, and his experience and leadership qualities will be invaluable when he leads a young England team next week – a role he is very much looking forward to."

England Test winners Stuart Broad and Eoin Morgan have both been forced out due to injury while James Anderson has been included in the Twenty20 squad.
