Eoin Morgan heaps praise on rounded England after World T20 semi-final success

England captain Eoin Morgan hails a near-perfect performance from his side after they smashed their way to the World Twenty20 final with victory over New Zealand.

England captain Eoin Morgan has praised his teammates for a near-perfect display in this evening's World Twenty20 semi-final win over New Zealand in Delhi.

New Zealand entered the match having won all four of their games at the tournament, but England came out on top with a convincing seven-wicket win.

The bowlers managed to take eight Black Caps wickets and restrict the pre-match favourites to 153-8 from their 20 overs before Jason Roy led from the front with 78 from 44 balls as England reached the target with 17 balls to spare.

"I don't think [it could have gone any better]," Morgan, whose golden duck was the one blip, told Sky Sports News afterwards. "Maybe we could have started a little better with the ball, but I thought we did really well to peg it back after the first six or seven overs.

"Having played on this wicket before, it's harder to start than most. So continuing to take wickets throughout the back end of their innings helped us a huge amount."

England, winners of the tournament in 2010, will go for a second title on Sunday when they face either India or the West Indies in the final.
