Matt Prior has said that England should have claimed a second wicket before the end of play on day two of their first Test against Sri Lanka.
The home side appealed for the dismissal of Kaushal Silva, who finished the day unbeaten on 62, when he appeared to have edged a Stuart Broad delivery to the wicketkeeper, but the review did not clearly show whether the ball had been cleanly caught.
The 32-year-old told Sky Sports News: "You saw my reaction, I had no doubt about the catch. I thought it carried.
"I thought I got my hand, certainly my finger, under the ball. There's a rubber tip on keeping gloves and you can feel when it hits that.
"I've gone forward at the ball and certainly thought it carried but it's always tricky when it goes upstairs with the camera angles. We're disappointed but we get on with it."
England declared on 575-9 after a double century from Joe Root, while Sri Lanka were 140-1 at the close of play.
