Bob Willis: 'England should beat Sri Lanka'

Bob Willis backs England to beat Sri Lanka in the fifth ODI when the match resumes.

Former England bowler Bob Willis has claimed that the team should beat Sri Lanka in the fifth one-day international when it resumes on Thursday.

The tourists bowled the hosts out for 239 earlier today before heavy rain forced officials to delay the conclusion of the match.

Willis believes that a weakened Sri Lanka side should give England the advantage that they need to claim the victory and put themselves back in contention to win the seven-match series.

"England should be able to score at five runs an over and win the game," he told Sky Sports News. "[Rangana] Herath is not in the side through injury, Ajantha Mendis is not the handful he was when he burst on the scene, and [Sachithra] Senanayake is not going to be as effective."

England currently trail Sri Lanka 1-3 in the series.
