West Indies withdraw from India tour

West Indies withdraw from their tour of India with immediate effect.

The Indian Cricket Board has revealed that West Indies have notified them that they plan to withdraw from their current tour of the country.

The two teams are currently playing in the fourth one-day international of a five-match series, but it has been announced that the tourists plan to return home after the conclusion of the contest.

A statement from the BCCI said: "We are shocked and surprised with the West Indies Cricket Board's decision to cancel the ongoing tour of India.

"The WICB have informed the BCCI of its decision to cancel the rest of its tour because of a dispute with its players and it has advised the BBCI that their players will return home immediately."

A T20 match and a three-match Test series had been scheduled to take place after the one-day fixtures.
