Coach Waqar Younis has insisted that Pakistan "need to develop youngsters", starting with their upcoming matches against Bangladesh.
The 43-year-old was speaking after his side's elimination from the Cricket World Cup by co-hosts Australia at the quarter-final stage, meaning that the Greens have still not won the competition since 1992.
"We need to make mature decisions and stop being emotional. We need to develop youngsters and experiment in the upcoming series against Bangladesh," he told Express News.
"We need to select players who have all-round attributes and apart from being good batsmen or bowlers they should be exceptional fielders and physically fit.
"We can't write off senior players in important matches. But, now is the time that we decide who we should rest and who should be sent to play domestic cricket to regain form."
Pakistan are currently ranked the seventh-best one-day international side in the world.
