Pakistan to begin work on Mohammad Hafeez's bowling action

Pakistan confirm that off-spinner Mohammad Hafeez will begin work on his bowling action immediately after he was suspended by the ICC.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed that Mohammad Hafeez will undergo work in Chennai on his bowling action after he was suspended by the ICC.

The off-spinner was punished after he was deemed to have breached the limits on elbow extension during a Test match against New Zealand last month.

Hafeez has been provisionally named in Pakistan's 30-man squad for next year's World Cup, but his bowling action will need to be cleared by the ICC before the January 7 deadline.

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan said: "We have decided to withdraw Hafeez from the one-day series against New Zealand and he will go to Chennai for unofficial tests and some remedial work."

Saeed Ajmal is suspended for a similar offence.
