Pakistan remain in contention against Sri Lanka

Pakistan reach the close of play on day two of the second Test match with Sri Lanka on 244-6.

A half-century from Sarfraz Ahmed has ensured that Pakistan remain in contention against Sri Lanka at the end of day two of the second Test match in Colombo.

After dismissing Sri Lanka for 320, Pakistan reached 126-3 at tea before being reduced to 140-5 at the start of the final session of the day.

However, after entering the action to join Asad Shafiq at the crease, Ahmed helped put on a stand of 93 for the sixth wicket to reduce Sri Lanka's advantage.

Ahmed hit five fours on the way to ending the day on an unbeaten 66, while Shafiq made a patient 42 before his dismissal as Pakistan ended the day on 244-6, 76 runs adrift of Sri Lanka's total.
