The Mumbai Indians managed to record a four-run victory over the Kings XI Punjab at the Wankhede Stadium this evening.
The Mumbai-based outfit opened the batting but they soon lost the experience of Sachin Tendulkar for just nine runs.
However, the innings was recovered by Rohit Sharma, whose unbeaten 79 from just 39 deliveries helped his side post 174-3 from their allotted 20 overs.
In reply, the Kings X1 struggled to form any significant partnerships. A knock of 56 from David Miller helped to bring them into contention in the closing stages, but he was eventually caught by Tendulkar.
It went down to the final over and despite a no ball and a wide being bowled by Dhawal Kulkarni, the visitors fell five runs short of their victory target.
