JP Duminy and Vernon Philander have both been passed fit for South Africa's World Cup game against Pool B rivals Pakistan on Saturday.
Despite recovering from a hamstring injury, Philander might miss out on the game in Auckland as the Proteas consider keeping faith with Kyle Abbott, but Duminy is expected to return at number six.
"A guy like JP will definitely get back in the mix. He has been one of our best players over a period of time," coach Russell Domingo told reporters.
"We need to make sure Vernon is 100% ready to go because we need to be careful with a hamstring strain with the important stage of the competition still to come."
South Africa are currently second in Pool B on six points after three wins in their first four games.
