Dinesh Chandimal knock takes Sri Lanka to 255

An unbeaten knock of 65 from Dinesh Chandimal takes Sri Lanka to 255-8 off their 50 overs in the first one-day international with Pakistan.

Sri Lanka have posted a score of 255-8 in the first one-day international against Pakistan in Dambulla.

After winning the toss, Pakistan had to wait until the ninth over to get their first wicket, with Kusal Perera making 26 before falling off the bowling of Mohammad Hafeez.

Sri Lanka's top five batsmen all made positive starts before departing before 50, with Tillakaratne Dilshan and Angelo Mathews both recording scores of 38 as their side reached 200-5 with 49 balls remaining.

Hafeez struck again by removing Thisara Perera to pick up his fourth wicket, but Dinesh Chandimal was the saviour for the hosts as he recorded his 13th half-century in one-day internationals.

The wicket-keeper hit five fours and a six in an unbeaten knock of 65 to help his team post a competitive target of 256.
