West Indies legend Brian Lara believes that Shivnarine Chanderpaul should be batting at number three in the order.
The 43-year-old, who scored nearly 12,000 Test runs mainly from number three, said that the Guyana man is the best batsman in the current lineup.
He believes that Chanderpaul, who is the number one ranked Test batter, should not be wasted at number five any longer.
"If I was going to be a little critical of the batting lineup at the moment, it would be that the top four lack experience," The Mirror quotes Lara as saying.
"I would like to see Chanderpaul maybe jump up to number three. Your best batter is going to be at number three. He is the one who is going to lay the foundations to win a match.
"If your best batter is coming in five, repairing damage I don't understand the logic in it."
The first Test match between England and the West Indies gets underway at Lord's tomorrow.
