England declare on 333 for seven against West Indies

West Indies begin their pursuit of 438 in the first Test against England in Antigua after the visitors declared on 333 for seven just before tea.

West Indies have begun an unlikely pursuit of 438 in the first Test against England in Antigua after the visitors declared on 333 for seven late in the middle session.

England built a healthy lead courtesy of a fourth Test century from the back-in-form Gary Ballance and 59 rapid runs from Jos Buttler.

A declaration from Alastair Cook allowed them a few overs at the hosts before the interval, with Stuart Broad duly bowling a bouncer to eliminate Kraigg Brathwaite.

Meanwhile James Anderson took the new ball on 382 Test scalps, just one behind the milestone set by Ian Botham 23 years ago, and is well on course to enter the history books after tea.
