Steve Cummings has admitted that he found the men's individual time trial at the Commonwealth Games this afternoon "incredibly hard".
The England cyclist finished in seventh place in Glasgow earlier, over 90 seconds behind gold medallist and compatriot Alex Dowsett.
The 33-year-old said: "It was incredibly hard. The start was uphill and there was a headwind at the end and the middle section was really technical. It was certainly a test but I enjoyed it.
"I've not really raced since May when I broke my elbow which meant I couldn't go to the Tour. It didn't really have any expectations, so I can't have any complaints.
"I'll go to the Tour of Poland now and then we'll see. I just want to get into the sort of shape I was at the start of the season."
Cummings won a gold medal in the team pursuit at the Melbourne Games in 2006.
