Laura Trott has revealed the confidence she has in herself ahead of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The double Olympic champion is considered one of the leading contenders for the gold medal in Friday's individual pursuit, and she believes that the event represents the perfect opportunity to collect her first Commonwealth victory.
"The times have been coming down and I feel in good form," Trott revealed to The Telegraph. "Friday is one of my best chances in the sense that the individual pursuit is the most predictable, the most controllable of the four events in which I am entered.
"I have got a pretty good idea of what I will need to do and I will need to register a personal best, [I] desperately want that missing gold."
Trott claimed victory in the individual pursuit at last year's British National Track Championships.
