Team GB cyclist Dani King leaves hospital following a crash in training, which left her with five broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

British cyclist Dani King has returned home following a 12-day stay in hospital.

The 23-year-old, who won gold in the women's team pursuit at London 2012, was being treated at the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil after a training crash.

King suffered five broken ribs and a collapsed lung in the incident, but having received extensive treatment, she has now been released to continue her recovery at home.

"Twelve days later and I'm on my way home. I cannot thank everyone enough for the help, support and love that has got me through this hard time," King wrote on Twitter.

King recently confirmed that ahead of Rio 2016, she will spend the next year focused on road racing.
