Chris Froome: 'Cup of urine thrown at me'

Tour de France leader Chris Froome claims that a cup of urine was thrown at him by a supporter.

Tour de France leader Chris Froome has claimed that he had a cup of urine thrown at him during stage 14 amid accusations that he is doping.

The Briton extended his overall lead to three minutes and 10 seconds, but the Team Sky rider was evidently angered by the act of one spectator.

BBC Sport quotes Froome as saying: "Unfortunately, someone threw a cup of urine into my face and shouted 'doper' which is extremely wrong on so many different levels.

"I was really disappointed, it's not in the name of sport."

The incident comes one day after teammate Richie Porte said he was punched by a spectator.
