AC Milan are reportedly preparing an offer for Juventus striker Alessandro Matri, but only if they qualify for the Champions League.
Matri is available after falling down the pecking order at Juventus during the summer, with the defending champions adding Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente to a forward line already featuring Mirko Vucinic and Sebastian Giovinco.
Juve have put Matri and Fabio Quagliarella up for sale in the last month, but are thought to want at least £8m to consider selling either forward.
Milan have been tracking Matri for much of the summer but will only consider a bid if they come through tomorrow night's Champions League qualifier against PSV Eindhoven, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Massimiliano Allegri's side are currently level at 1-1 with the Dutch side, following Stephan El Shaarawy's early goal in Eindhoven last week.
The Rossoneri have also failed to close deals for Adem Ljajic and Keisuke Honda in a frustrating transfer window, with Andrea Poli the only major arrival at the San Siro.
