Africa Cup of Nations preview: Tunisia

Sports Mole looks ahead to Tunisia's chances of making an impact at this year's Africa Cup of Nations.

Since they won the competition back in 2004, Tunisia have failed to go beyond the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations.

As a result, coach Sami Trabelsi is under pressure to deliver a team that at least reaches the semi-finals of the competition this time around.

However, if their qualification process is anything to go by, a run to the final four would probably be an over-achievement.

They only reached the tournament thanks to 2-2 away-goals aggregate victory over minnows Sierra Leone.

Group: D

Players to watch out for:

Youssef Msakni

Despite being just 22, there is a lot of expectation riding upon Msakni's performances over the next couple of weeks. Although he can play as a striker, many believe that he is more comfortable playing in an advanced midfield role. It has been reported that his form for Lekhwiya this season has attracted interest from numerous European clubs.

Issam Jemaa

The striker may only be 28, but he is Tunisia's leading goalscorer of all time. Jemaa has found the net on 34 occasions from his 70 outings on the international scene. He also heads into the competition in good form, having scored four goals in recent friendly matches against Iraq and Ghana.

Previous best: Winners 2004

Odds outright to win: 16/1

Sports Mole says: Quarter-finals
