Rafinha: 'Bayern Munich wary of Arsenal'

Bayern defender Rafinha acknowledges that Arsenal have improved and anticipates a tricky last-16 clash with the Gunners in the Champions League.

Bayern Munich defender Rafinha has admitted that Arsenal are likely to prove a tougher test in the last-16 of the Champions League than last season.

The Bavarians beat the Gunners on away goals under then-coach Jupp Heynckes en route to the title last season but, having added the likes of Mesut Ozil to their ranks in the summer, Rafinha claims that the defending champions will need to be at their best to repeat the feat and eliminate the North London outfit again.

"There will certainly be two tough games," he told Goal. "We played them last year in the Champions League and we won one and lost the other. They are a better team now than last year.

"We will need to be at our best to make it to the next round. They're a great team with players like [Mesut] Ozil, [Olivier] Giroud and [Mikel] Arteta."

Arsene Wenger's men host the German giants on February 19, before travelling to Munich for a clash with Pep Guardiola's side three weeks later.
