Arsene Wenger: 'Being in pot two for Champions League not a disadvantage'

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists that his side do not have a "disadvantage" in being placed in pot two for the Champions League group-stage draw.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has no concerns about being in pot two for the Champions League draw this season, despite facing harder opposition.

The structure has been altered by UEFA, placing the champions of each country in pot one.

Despite the change, Wenger, whose side finished third in the 2014-15 Premier League campaign, has insisted that every group is strong in the elite competition.

"I don't think it will change anything," Wenger told Arsenal Player. "It will just put some weaker teams in pot one.

"When you look at the structure of the groups, you don't necessarily have a disadvantage by being in pot two because it looks as strong because of the recent history of the teams that are there.

"Ideally you want a group where you have a chance to come out in the top position, no matter how far you go. It helps sometimes mentally not to go too far."

The group-stage draw will be made in Nyon this afternoon.
