Jack Wilshere: 'FA Cup win is for the fans'

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere dedicates the club's FA Cup final win to the fans after ending the Gunner's nine-year wait for a major trophy.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has said that their victory against Hull City in the FA Cup final is for the fans after the club ended their nine-year wait for a major trophy.

The Gunners found themselves 2-0 down within 10 minutes but produced a remarkable comeback to win the game 3-2 thanks to Aaron Ramsey's extra-time winner.

"It's amazing, I've won the FA Youth Cup before but it's nothing like this," Wilshere told ITV.

"We never do it easy. Sitting on the bench I felt sick after the first 10 minutes, but we always felt if we got the goal before half-time we would win it and it was a great free-kick from Santi (Cazorla). You could see at the end a few players had injuries but we dug in and carried on.

"All the credit goes to the boys - it was easy for me to come and help us get across the line, but all credit goes to them. It's been a long nine years for the fans - they fill the Emirates every week and this is for them."

Arsenal also finished fourth in the Premier League to secure Champion's League football next season.
