SM Football Shorts: Premier League predictions for Wednesday's games

The first round of Sports Mole's Premier League predictions competition sees Editor Barney Corkhill and Football Editor Matt Law provide their guesses for Wednesday's matches.

The Premier League makes its long-awaited return this evening, exactly 100 days after the last piece of top-flight action.

Relegation-threatened Aston Villa welcome European hopefuls Sheffield United to Villa Park in the first match back, before champions Manchester City host Arsenal and former assistant Mikel Arteta at the Etihad Stadium.

To mark the return of the Premier League, Sports Mole is launching a prediction competition between Editor Barney Corkhill and Football Editor Matt Law.

Over the remaining 92 games of the campaign they will be predicting the results of every match, with two points being awarded for a correct result - ie home win, away win or draw - and five points being awarded for getting the score spot on.

At the end of the campaign all of the scores will then be tallied up to crown a Premier League predictions king!

Listen below as the Sports Mole's Football Shorts team discuss what they expect to see in the first two games back.
